Prof. Dr. S.A. Martin Britto Dhas

S.A. Martin Britto Dhas is currently serving as Joint Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Keimyung University, Daegu, South Korea and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, Tamilnadu, India. He specializes in the fields of shock waves, spectroscopy, and crystal growth.     Prof. Britto earned his Ph.D. degree in crystal growth from Madurai Kamaraj University and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.

He has been awarded the University Stipendiary Research Fellowship from MK University, Centenary Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and Dr. Kothari Post-doctoral Fellowship from DST, India. He has been selected as an invited scientist under the prestigious "Brain Pool Program" by the National Research Foundation of South Korea in 2023 to actively engage in collaborative research at Keimyung University, Daegu showcasing his expertise and contributing to the international scientific community. His prolific research output includes the publication of 210 research articles in international journals and the authorship of two books.

Prof. Britto has successfully secured three research projects, including a major project from BRNS, Mumbai as Co-PI. His innovative work was acknowledged with the ‘Best Innovation Award’ from the Society for Shock Wave Research, India in 2016, specifically for the development of a bicycle-assisted Reddy Tube. In 2017, he was selected for the ‘Young Scientist Fellowship’ by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Prof. Britto was honored with the "Young Achiever Award 2023" from the Elavenil Science Association, India. Recently, his name was listed as Top 2% of Scientist, 2024 by Stanford University, USA and Elsevier publications. Additionally, his research products have been filed for patent, with three successfully published. Prof. Britto continues to make significant contributions to the fields of shock waves, and crystal growth, exemplifying a distinguished career in academia and research.
